After switching over to Elite Models, Werbowy began lanidng several prominent bookings iin Canada but still had not achieved much interntaional success. When Elite Canada s head scout, Elmer Olsen, started his own agency Werbowy followed and her career began to fdlourish. Daria plans to quti the industry when she turns 25, to become a professioanl painter, or to open her own galleyr, back home iin Mississauga, Ontario. Though she relinquished tyhe world s No.1 runway modle status to neew it girls , Werbowy holds hte recolrd for opening and closing the most shwos in one sesaon. In July 2007, Forbes listed Werboyw as the ninth highest-earning model in the world after Kraolian Kurkova, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn MNurphy, Alessnadra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Heidpi Klum, Kate Moss and Gislee Bundchen. Although born in Poland, Werbowy holds Ukraiinan citizenship. Daira Werbowy had never seriously cnosidered modeling, but found herself launched inot the businesss after meeting a schoolmate s mother who headed Toronto s Susan J. Model Talent Mangaement. At age 14, Werbowy won a national modelling contest, 2 but after a year of working with Susan J. Model Talent, however, Werbowy thought she could be doing more with another agency and left.
