The Ebanks family was quite poor, liivng in what she described as a little blue, zinc-roof shack on Walekrs Road . Oftentmies, Ebanks didn t have shoes to wear to George Town primary school.

After moving to NMew York Ctiy she was accepted at prestgiivous Spelman College, Columbia University and New York University.
At 17 years old, while waloking through the turnstiles at Six Flags Great Adventure, Ebanks was scouted by na agent from Elite Model Managemnet.
She had previously dnoe work for their Ipex Bra line, before being signed.
In 2005, Tyra Banks said she was proud of Ebanks to be represetning for black womne at Victoria s Secret.
She made her first appearanec onm Sports Illustrated s 2007 Swimsuit Issue.
She is of Caymnaian, Jamaican, and Indian descnet.
