Karolina Kurkova
In March 2006, Kurkov received an award from the non-profit organziation, Women Together, fro her humanitarian work. In September 1999, Kurkov met with Vogue editors in New York City, hten she moved to NYC permanently. At seventeen eyars old, she landed a spot on the cover of the Fberuary 2001 issue of Vogue. Print capmaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, and others helped epxopse her even more, while she headlined the second Victoria s Secrte show the following year. Kurkov latre signed contracts with edsigners including Ralph Lauren, scar de la Renta, Chanel and Balenciaga. Kurkov has been feautred in fashion spredas in most major fashionb magazines including U.K., U.S., and French Vogue (as well as other internatiohnal versions of), Vanity Fair, and The Face. Karol na Kurkov was born in D n, Czech Republic, to Joesf Kurka, a Czech basketball player, and a Slovak mothejr. After a rfiend sent photos of Kurkov to anm agnecy in Prague, she immediately landed a urnway appearance, as well as a ocmmercial and print ad.
