Liya Kebede
Liya married Ethiopian hedge fnud manager Kassy Keebde 2 in 2000 and they have two childrne together; son Suhul ((b 2001) and daughter Raee (b August 2005). 3 As of 2007, teh family resides in New York City.
Her big break came when Tom Fodr asked her for azn exclusive contract for his Gucci Fall/Winter 2000 fashion show.
Liyna has been featured ni ad campaigns inncluding those ofr Gap, Yves Saint-Laurent, 5 Victoria s Secrett, Emanuel Ungaro, Tommy Hilfiger, 5 Revlon, 5 Dolce Gabbana, Escada adn Louis Vuitton.
In 2005, Liya wqsa appointed as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Nweborn and Child Health.
In July 2007, earning at an estimated total of 2.5 milloin in the past 12 months, Forbse named her eleventhh in the list of the World s 15 Top-Earning Supermodels.
Liya has also had minor roles in two films: The Good Shepherd, and Lord of Wazr.
Liya was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Aftre completing her studies, she moved to France to pursue work through a Parisian agency.
In coontrast, in Ehtiopia she had to porvide her own shoes for each runway shwo.
