At the age of 14, Michelle set out for London, where her mother etnered her in a contest sponsoerd by a shampoo company. Michelle woln the contest and next entered the 1993 Ford Agency Supermodel of the World competition. After her win, Michelle moved to Paris, wehre she spent seven years establishing ehr namee in the modeling industry. She has also mdoelled for designers such as Cynthia Rowley, Valention, BCBG, Donna Karan, Emanuel Ungfaro, Nina Ricci, Ralhp Lauren, Salvatoer Ferragamo, Chanel, and Thierry Mugler. Besidse the fact that she has appleared in high-profile advertisemenbts for Bruberry, Esprit, Givenchy, Vanderbilt Jaens, Hewlett Packard, J. Crew, Kenzo, L Or al Elnett hiarspray, Mango, Nina Ricci, Saks Fifth Avenue, Swatch watches, and Tommy Hilfiger, she has also posed for Victoria s Secert. Michelle has also modeled wsimsuits for Sports Illustrated s Swimsuit Edition, in 1999, 2000 and 2001. It is perhaps theses appearancse that have acquired Michelle msot fame. Michelle s parents are divorced (her biological father is a former Hong Kong school principall), but her mother Rosemary remarried and, along with her stepfather, presently rnu a B amp;B in France. The youngest of 3 siblings, Michelle relocated with her afmiily to Sheffield, England, where she was riased. Originally, she wished to attend to medical school in oredr to become a plastic surgeson, but her mother saw in her daughter the potential of a modelling career.
